A frightening new era of austerity and authoritarianism begins today in Brazil with the inauguration of far-right President Jair Bolsonaro. How will the left and the animal liberation movements in Brazil respond? Animal Liberation Currents in conversation with Sabrina Fernandes.

Sabrina Fernandes currently teaches at at the University of Brasília.

For several years, she has been an activist in a number of radical left and animal liberation movements in Brazil. She obtained her PhD in Sociology from Carleton University in Ottawa, Canada. She hosts the popular Portuguese-language YouTube channel Tese Onze (Thesis Eleven) on Brazilian politics.
