Eva Meijer is working on a PhD in philosophy at the University of Amsterdam, 'Political Animal Voices', developing a theory of political animal voice. She teaches the course 'Animal Ethics and Politics' and is chair of the Dutch study group for Animal Ethics, as well as a founding member of Minding Animals The Netherlands. Recent publications include a book on nonhuman animal languages, *Dierentalen*, and a fictional biography of bird scientist Len Howard, *Het vogelhuis*.
